S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 not one, that cried not lies to the Messengers, so My retribution was just. 14
