We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without purpose, even though this is the belief of the disbelievers. Woe to the disbelievers; they will suffer the torment of fire 27 Or shall We make those who believe and do righteous deeds as the workers of corruption in the earth, or shall We make the godfearing as the transgressors? 28 (This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 When there were displayed before him, in the afternoon, well trained horses of the highest breed [for Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause)]. 31 he said, 'Lo, I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord, until the sun was bidden behind the veil. 32 [He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks. 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' 35 So we subjugated the wind to his service which carried his merchandise wheresoever he wished; 36 And We subjected to him the evil ones: every builder and diver. 37 And also others bound in fetters. 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
