We have not created the heavens and earth, and what between them is, for vanity; such is the thought of the unbelievers, wherefore woe unto the unbelievers because of the Fire! 27 Shall We treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? Or shall We make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God. 30 When they brought fleet-footed chargers in the evening to show him, 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 He said, "Bring them back to me." Then he started to rub their legs and necks. 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 He said: My Lord! do Thou forgive me and grant me a kingdom which is not fit for (being inherited by) anyone after me; 35 And so We made subservient to him the wind, so that it gently sped at his behest whithersoever he willed, 36 And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
