We did not create this heaven and earth and all that lies between them in vain. That is the fancy of those who denied the Truth. So woe from the Fire to all who deny the Truth. 27 Shall We treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? Or shall We make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked? 28 (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-- 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 saying, "Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that no one after me can have the like. You are All-munificent". 35 Then We subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, Whithersoever he willed,- 36 as well as all the rebellious forces [that We made to work for him] - every kind of builder and diver 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 “This is Our bestowal – you may therefore bestow favours or withhold them – you will not be questioned.” 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
