AND [thus it is:] We have not created heaven and earth and all that is between them without meaning and purpose, as is the surmise of those who are bent on denying the truth: but then, woe from the fire [of hell] unto all who are bent on denying the truth! 27 shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? 28 This is the Blessed Book that We have revealed to you, (O Muhammad), that people with understanding may reflect over its verses and those with understanding derive a lesson. 29 We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 Then he said: Surely I preferred the good things to the remembrance of my Lord-- until the sun set and time for Asr prayer was over, (he said): 32 Return them to me!' And he began to stroke their shanks and necks. 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said: “My Lord, forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom such as none other after me will deserve. Surely You are the Bounteous Giver.” 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 as well as all the rebellious forces [that We made to work for him] - every kind of builder and diver 37 and others chained in fetters. 38 We told him, "This is Our gift to you so give them away free or keep them as you like". 39 And indeed, for him is nearness to Us and a good place of return. 40
