And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 and whom we mocked? Have they been rescued or can our eyes not find them?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
