Elucidated (Fussilat)
54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 A revelation from the most benevolent, ever-merciful, 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
