In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

HaMeem. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say thou: I am only a human being like unto you; only it is revealed unto me that your God is but One God, wherefore take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe be unto the associators. 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
