Elucidated (Fussilat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Indeed for those who believed and did good deeds, is a limitless reward. 8
