Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise). 8
