54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ha Mim: 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
