Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
HA MIM. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
