Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
