Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha-Mim 1 'Ain-Sin-Qaf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 2 (Muhammad), this is how God, the Majestic and All-wise, sends revelations to you and sent them to those who lived before you. 3 His is all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and most exalted, tremendous is He. 4 The heavens are almost rent asunder from above them (by Him Glory): and the angels celebrate the Praises of their Lord, and pray for forgiveness for (all) beings on earth: Behold! Verily Allah is He, the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 5 Those who have taken protectors other than Him, are watched over by God. It is not for you to be their guardian. 6 We have revealed the Quran to you in the Arabic language so that you could warn the people of the Mother Town (Mecca) and those around it of the inevitable Day of Resurrection when some will go to Paradise and others to hell. 7 Had God wanted, He could have made them all one single nation, but He grants mercy to whomever He wills. The unjust will have no guardian or helper. 8 Did they, perchance, [think that they could] choose protectors other than Him? But God alone is the Protector [of all that exists,] since it is He alone who brings the dead to life, and He alone who has the power to will anything. 9
