Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 'AeenSeenQaaf 2 In this wise revealeth unto thee and unto those before thee, Allah the Mighty, the Wise. 3 All that is in the heavens and earth belongs to Him: He is the Exalted, the Almighty. 4 Well-nigh the heavens might be rent in sunder from above them. And the angels hallow the praise of their lord and ask forgiveness for these on the earth. Lo! Verily Allah! He is the Forgiver, the Merciful! 5 And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah (as) protectors, and they worship them] Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds, etc.). 6 And thus We have inspired in thee a Lecture in Arabic, that thou mayst warn the mother-town and those around it, and mayst warn of a day of assembling whereof there is no doubt. A host will be in the Garden, and a host of them in the Flame. 7 Had Allah willed, He could have made them one community, but Allah bringeth whom He will into His mercy. And the wrong-doers have no friend nor helper. 8 Have they taken others beside Him as protectors? It is God who protects; it is He who gives life to the dead, for He has power over everything. 9
