And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth, nor do you have a guardian and a helper other than Allah. 31 And of His signs are the ships that run on the sea like landmarks; 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 or else He may cause them to perish because of what they have wrought; and [withal,] He pardons much. 34 and that those who dispute concerning Our signs may know they have no asylum. 35 Whatsoever you have been given is only this life's merchandise; but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and place their trust in their Lord, 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 And whoever avenges himself after having been wronged - those have not upon them any cause [for blame]. 41 Blame attaches only to those who subject people to wrong and commit excesses on earth. A painful chastisement awaits them. 42 But he who patiently endures and forgives, that is a conduct of great resolve. 43
