Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or, He wrecks them for what they have earned, but He pardons a lot. 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 So whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this world's life, and what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who, when great wrong afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things. 43
