And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He willeth He causeth the wind to cease so that they keep still on the back thereof; verily therein are signs for every patient, grateful person. 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 who have pledged their obedience to the Lord, who are steadfast in prayer, who conduct their affairs with consultation among themselves, who spend for the cause of God out of what We have given them, 38 And those who defend themselves when they are wronged. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs. 43
