Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea like landmarks. 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He could destroy them for what they earned; but He pardons much. 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatsoever you have been given is only this life's merchandise; but what is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and place their trust in their Lord, 36 Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive; 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 And indeed whoever patiently endured and forgave – then indeed these are acts of great courage. 43
