Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 and so, [in the end,] We destroyed them [even though they were] of greater might than these: and the [very] image of those people of old became a thing of the past. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 And He it is who has created all opposites. And He [it is who] has provided for you all those ships and animals whereon you ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
