Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha Mim 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
