Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 And not a prophet came unto them but him they were wont to mock. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 So that you may properly mount their backs, and may remember your Lord’s favour when you have mounted them, and say, “Purity is to Him, Who has given this ride in our control, and we did not have the strength for it.” 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
