Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 We have indeed sent it as a Qur’an in the Arabic language, so that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
