Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 The One Who made the earth a bed for you, and made roads for you in it, so that you may be guided. 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
