Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim 1 By the clear Book, 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and earth?' they will say, 'The All-mighty, the All-knowing created them.' 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
