Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We then take away from you the admonition because ye are a people extravagant? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
