۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 And say: "Are our aliha (gods) better or is he ['Iesa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. [(See VV. 21:97-101) - The Quran.] 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. 60 And verily he is a sign of the Hour wherefore dubitate not thereof, and follow Me: this is the straight path. 61 Let not the Evil One hinder you: for he is to you an enemy avowed. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
