۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And had We so willed, [O you who worship angels,] We could indeed have made you into angels succeeding one another on earth! 60 And verily he is a sign of the Hour wherefore dubitate not thereof, and follow Me: this is the straight path. 61 And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 Assuredly God is my Lord and your Lord; therefore serve Him; this is a straight path.' 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 All intimate friends on that day will become each others enemies except for the pious, 67
