۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. 60 And he ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Iesa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, "Now I have come to you with wisdom, in order to make clear to you some of the things about which you dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. 63 "Verily, God is my Sustainer as well as your Sustainer; so worship [none but] Him: this [alone] is a straight way!" 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 Are they looking for aught but the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they are not aware? 66 Close friends will turn into enemies of one another on that Day, except the pious. 67
