۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And he ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Iesa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). 61 And let not the Satan hinder you; verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
