And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
