We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Even then they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
