And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
