And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Even then they say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
