Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
