Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Lo, the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum 43 Is food for the sinful. 44 Like molten copper; it churns in their bellies. 45 like boiling water. 46 [And the word will be spoken:] "Seize him, [O you forces of hell,] and drag him into the midst of the blazing fire: 47 “Then pour on his head the punishment of boiling water.” 48 [It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble! 49 Verily this is that whereof ye were wont to doubt. 50 Surely the godfearing shall be in a station secure 51 among gardens and springs, 52 Dressed in brocade and shot silk, facing one another. 53 So; and We shall join them to fair women with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. 54 They shall call therein for every fruit in security; 55 Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,- 56 As a Bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success! 57 THUS, THEN, [O Prophet,] have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own [human] tongue, so that men might take it to heart. 58 So be watchful, they too are watching. 59

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
