The food of the Zakkum tree 43 is food for the sinner. 44 like molten copper, bubbling in the belly 45 Like the boiling of scalding water. 46 [A voice will cry], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of Hell. 47 then pour over his head the anguish of burning despair! 48 Saying “Taste it! Indeed you only are the most honourable, the dignified!” 49 Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt. 50 The pious ones will be in a secure place 51 Among Gardens and Springs; 52 Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; 53 Thus shall it be. And We shall pair them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 54 While resting in security, they shall call for all kinds of fruit. 55 They taste not death therein, save the first death. And He hath saved them from the doom of hell, 56 A bounty from thy Lord. That! that is the supreme achievement. 57 (O Prophet), We have made this Book easy in your tongue so that they may take heed. 58 So wait thou and watch; for they (too) are waiting. 59
