Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha-Mim. 1 The revelation of the Book is from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 2 Lo! in the heavens and the earth are portents for believers. 3 And in your own nature, and in [that of] all the animals which He scatters [over the earth] there are messages for people who are endowed with inner certainty. 4 And the difference of night and day and the provision that Allah sendeth down from the sky and thereby quickeneth the earth after her death, and the ordering of the winds, are portents for a people who have sense. 5 These are the portents of Allah which We recite unto thee (Muhammad) with truth. Then in what fact, after Allah and His portents, will they believe? 6 Woe unto every sinful self-deceiver 7 He hears the revelations of God which are recited to him, then persists in his arrogance as if he had not even heard them. Tell him that he will suffer a painful torment. 8 When he comes to know something of Our messages he makes fun of them: For them is shameful punishment. 9 Behind them Gehenna; and that they have earned shall not avail them aught, nor those they took as protectors, apart from God; for them awaits a mighty chastisement. 10 [To pay heed to God's signs and messages:] this is [the meaning of] guidance; on the other hand, for those who are bent on denying the truth of their Sustainer's messages there is grievous suffering in store as an outcome of [their] vileness. 11
