Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 This Scripture is sent down from God, the Mighty and Wise One. 2 In the heavens and the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 3 and in your own creation; and in the animals which He spreads out over the earth too there are Signs for those endowed with sure faith; 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the circulation of the winds: [in all this] there are signs for people who use their reason. 5 Those are the signs of God that We recite to thee in truth; in what manner of discourse then, after God and His signs, will they believe? 6 Woe unto every liar, sinner! 7 Who hears the communications of Allah recited to him, then persists proudly as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a painful punishment. 8 And when he cometh to know aught of Our revelations, he taketh it scoffingly. These! theirs shall be a torment ignominous; 9 Hell is ahead of them; and all that they may have gained [in this world] shall be of no avail whatever to them, and neither shall any of those things which, instead of God, they have come to regard as their protectors: for, awesome suffering awaits them. 10 This is guidance. And those who disbelieve the revelations of their Lord, for them there is a painful doom of wrath. 11
