In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Those who disbelieve and bar from God's way, God will send their works astray. 1 As for those who believe and do good deeds and believe in what has been revealed to Muhammad, and it is the truth from their Lord, God will remove their sins from them and set their condition right. 2 This is because the disbelievers have followed falsehood and the believers have followed the Truth from their Lord. Thus God explains to the human being their own prospects. 3 When you meet those who deny the truth in battle, strike them in the neck, and once they are defeated, make [them] prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as an act of grace, or let them ransom [themselves] until the war is finally over. Thus you shall do; and if God had pleased, He would certainly have exacted retribution from them, but His purpose is to test some of you by means of others. As for those who are killed in God's cause, He will never let their deeds be in vain; 4 He will soon guide them (towards Paradise) and make them succeed. 5 and He will admit them to Paradise, that He has made known to them. 6 Believers! If you succour God, He will succour you and make your footsteps firm. 7 But those who disbelieve - for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds. 8 That is because they detest that which Allah hath sent down, and so He shall make of non-effect their works. 9 ۞ Have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who had gone before them? Allah destroyed them! Likewise it is for the unbelievers, 10 This, because God is the Protector of all who have attained to faith, whereas they who deny the truth have no protector. 11
