Verily Allah shall cause those who believe and work righteous works to enter Gardens whereunder rivers flow. And those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat even as the cattle eat, and the Fire shall be the abode for them. 12 And how many a city was stronger than your city [Makkah] which drove you out? We destroyed them; and there was no helper for them. 13 CAN, THEN, he who takes his stand on a clear evidence from his Sustainer be likened unto one to whom the evil of his own doings [always] seems goodly, and unto such as would follow but their own lusts? 14 A likeness of the Garden which hath been promised to the God-fearing; therein are rivers of water incorruptible, and rivers of milk whereof the flavour changeth not, and rivers of wine a joy unto the drinkers, and rivers of honey clarified. Theirs therein shall be every kind of fruit, and forgiveness from their Lord. Shall persons enjoying such bliss be like unto those who are abiders in the Fire and are given to drink boiling water so that it mangleth their entrails? 15 Among them are those who listen to you, but then, when they leave your presence, say to those who have been given knowledge [Scripture], "What was that he just said?" Such are those whose hearts God has sealed, and who follow their own base desires. 16 But as for those who follow guidance, He adds to their guidance, and shows them the way to righteousness. 17 Do they then only wait for the Hour,- that it should come on them of a sudden? But already have come some tokens thereof, and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their admonition? 18 So know thou that there is no god save Allah, and ask forgiveness for thy fault and for believing men and believing women. And Allah knoweth well your moving about and your place of rest. 19
