Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Verily We have granted thee a manifest Victory: 1 that God may forgive thee thy former and thy latter sins, and complete His blessing upon thee, and guide thee on a straight path, 2 and [show] that God will succour thee with [His] mighty succour. 3 He it is Who bestowed inner peace on the hearts of the believers so that they may grow yet more firm in their faith. To Allah belong the legions of the heavens and the earth; Allah is All-Knowing, Most Wise. 4 That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from them;- and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (for man),- 5 And to punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women, who think evilly about Allah; upon them only is the evil cycle of misfortune; and Allah has wreaked anger upon them, and has cursed them, and has prepared hell for them; and what an evil destination. 6 For God's are the armies of the heavens and the earth; and God is all-knowing and all-wise. 7 We have truly sent thee as a witness, as a bringer of Glad Tidings, and as a Warner: 8 So that (men) may believe in God and His Apostle, and honour Him and revere Him, and sing His praises morning and evening. 9 Verily those who plight their fealty to thee do no less than plight their fealty to Allah: the Hand of Allah is over their hands: then any one who violates his oath, does so to the harm of his own soul, and any one who fulfils what he has covenanted with Allah,- Allah will soon grant him a great Reward. 10
