We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 Behold! when the two receivers receive - one on the right hand and one on the left a sitter. 17 Not a word he uttereth but there is with him a watcher ready. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth; that is what you were trying to escape. 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
