We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong". 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 and an idol worshipper. Throw him into severe torment". 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
