We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his companion will say: this is that which with me is ready. 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
