Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 Who sets up another god with Allah, so do cast him into severe chastisement. 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants." 29
