We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
