And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the trumpet will be blown: this is the Day of the Threatening. 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man - everyone] 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His companion will say: O our Lord! caused him not to transgress but he was himself in error far off. 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
