Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
