Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
